Thank you both for delving into such a multifaceted and sensitive topic, and thanks to Freddie for openly sharing your personal story. I have a parent diagnosed with Bipolar I and in no way has any part of it been "romantic," for him nor for anyone who's crossed his path.

I'm just as impressed with Freddie as I was the first time you had him on. He has a real knack for clearly explaining complex topics that cross audience-boundaries -- something I don't know anything about, or something I'm ideologically opposed to, suddenly become both fascinating and thought provoking. I'm looking forward to his return appearance for his next book.

I wonder what Freddie would think of psychological unhealthy individuals and the criminal system and are they culpable for their actions. The description of mania was exactly what was depicted in Death By Lightning in Charles Gaiteau who was the first person to attempt to plea not guilty by insanity. He definitely thought of himself as a individual of grandeur despite reality contradicting that at every turn, and his paranoia is what motivated him to assassinate President Garfield.
