Video: I Still Hate Stadium Subsidies
Why are you booing? I am right!
Okay, here’s where I’m willing to concede some ground on stadium subsidies:
You can make the case that the psychic utility (joy of fans, civic pride, cheerleader proliferation) is worth the money. That’s actually a fair argument. But it hinges on stadiums as something which are purchased rather than an investment that pays for itself.
The idea that stadium subsidies are a net multiplier is and remains absurd. So let’s have an honest conversation about them!
Don’t worry, though, my latest from Reason is more jokes than economics.
Favorite part: the accidental bit where I screw up a name and then, for real, ask “Did I get that name right” and the editors kept it in.

What if I agree with you that they are a money sink and are really hard to justify but I like them just like I enjoy libraries and other things that cities spend money on?
